I would ask the exact same questions, and I do, whenever I hire someone. I do research, I talk to friends and neighbors, I look at Yelp and Google Reviews and then I make a decision. I do my due diligence before I hire someone, and you should too.
Can you learn how to train your dog watching YouTube videos, or hiring the least expensive trainer you find? Maybe. But, there is a good chance you will spend that time and money and realize that you really did not get the results that you were looking for. Is it worth it spending time and money and then have to do it again?
Anyone can call themselves a dog trainer, but to get 5-star reviews, repeat business, referrals from clients, veterinarians and behaviorists and win awards, that requires results. Dog training is not rocket science, but you either know how to do it or you don't. I will use knowledge from my career that started in 2002 and show you specific strategies from the very first session that you can apply right away to solve your dog training problems, and prevent dog training problems that you might not even be aware of -- all in a humane, kind way for both you and your dog.

Is Training My Full Time Job?
Yes! For more than 20 years it has been my full time job. Not only is it my full time job, but I also wrote a book, am writing another on dog aggression, have an active social network following and only offer private training. Most trainers will teach classes and fill in private sessions here and there, if they are full time at all. What this means for you is that you get a seasoned professional that will focus on you and your dog, answer your questions, respond in a timely manner, and will focus on you and your dog.
Did you know?
Did you know that if your dog barks out of the window that can lead to aggression? Did you know you probably are not using the crate enough for your puppy? Do you know when to start saying the cue, "Down" and why it is bad to say it too early? Is it okay to use puppy pads, or will that cause problems later on? What are the time-sensitive topics that you need to think about with your puppy? Is your aggressive dog able to learn how to get along with people or dogs? Should you tell your dog to stop growling or simply back away? These are examples of questions I answer all day long and in ways that are based on science, logic and humane treatment of your dog.
